THE BRAND
vpr Matrix® is Best Buy Co., Inc.'s line of private-label PCs. When new vpr Matrix products are introduced, they will be available at Best Buy retail stores, online at Bestbuy.com, and at Porsche Design boutiques in the USA.
The "vpr" in "vpr Matrix" stands for value, performance and reliability. Value represents top-quality components in a highly expandable design at a very competitive price. Performance delivers the power and memory needed for today's "Digital Lifestyle." Reliability comes from delivering on quality -- exceeding industry standards on every detail.
THE LOOK
The new look of vpr Matrix desktops and the 110 notebook series was created by Professor F.A. PORSCHE. Porsche Design GmbH is world-renowned for its distinguished aesthetic that refines objects down to their basic function, while bringing out a clarity and timelessness of form.
THE INNOVATIONS
The vpr Matrix desktop line is the first retail PC brand to incorporate commercial-grade technology as standard equipment. It features server-class Western Digital 7,200 RPM hard drives built at 1,500 DPPM (defect parts per million).
vpr Matrix desktop PCs use RAID-ready motherboards, and some systems are RAID-enabled. The benefit of RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) is a multiple hard-drive system that dramatically increases speed and/or data security.
Hyperthreading can be enabled on the highest speed processors of the vpr Matrix desktop line. this new technology, featured in high-end Intel Pentium® 4 processors, allow the processor to act as if there were two working together. It better utilizes the processing power available because it can perform two independent tasks at the same time.
The vpr Matrix 200A5 notebooks are the first Windows®-based notebooks to feature a DVD-friendly 15.2" widescreen display. It also includes vpr Matrix's SonopürTM enhanced audio system, which uses advanced 24/192 digital upsampling technology to play music with astonishing realism, detail and clarity. Worldwide patents are pending.
